This program is designed for new graduate RNs who are looking for an entry-level nursing position on a med-surg unit. The nurses hired into this program will receive a special orientation on a variety of med-surg units and will be placed on a permanent unit as positions become available. Shifts will vary and may change based on assignment. Nurses hired into the program may also pursue applying to our new graduate nurse residency program which will commence after the initial orientation period. Special skills taught include telemetry, special focus on geriatrics and patient centered care.
Bridgeport Hospital is hiring for a New Graduate RN Cohort Program within the medical-surgical areas of the hospital to start in February 2018.
Positions are full-time. Shifts are assigned based on the needs of the hiring unit. New hires should be open to working both 12 and 8 hour shifts when placed in a position.
To qualify, candidates must have graduated or completed their approved program between July 2017 and January 2018. Interest in general medicine nursing is required.

EDUCATION: BSN preferred.
LICENSURE: CT State RN License eligible
