    Responsible for providing community education programs for the schools, community, evenings of wellness, corporate entities, health fairs, churches, libraries, food pantry, national charity league and work w supervisor for grant site visits..

    Responsibilities

    • Community Outreach

      1. Builds contacts and networks in the community to build support for the NPBC.
      2. Works with partners in the community to raise funds during National Breast Cancer Awareness month (and at other times) in conjunction with events such as Pink Pledge
      3. Identifies grant/funding opportunities and works with staff to submit requests for funds.
      4. Develops and implements education and outreach initiatives at school systems, businesses, community centers and other organizations.
      5. Identifies new sites in the community for outreach and education
      6. As needed, works directly with school nurses and teachers at all levels to promote breast health and wellness for students, parents and faculty.
      7. Researches and schedules lectures in a continuing partnership with Bigelow Tea, Fairfield Chamber of Commerce and other corporate entities.
      8. Identifies other businesses for Lunch and Learn programs.
      9. Prepares educational & marketing materials as needed for NPBC & IMSS.
      10. Tracks data for program including community outreach and educational initiatives.
      11. Prepares quarterly reports to support fundraising and department initiatives.
      12. Coordinates volunteers as needed
      13. Data entry for cancer screening program
      14. As a team member, fill in for staff at front desk
      15. Performs other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION

     

    Bachelor's Degree required

     

    EXPERIENCE

     

    Experience 1-3 years community outreach in non-profit or school.  Ability to learn and teach healthcare topics to children/women/families and fundraise. 

     

    SPECIAL SKILLS

     

    excellent verbal and written communication skills.
